Mike Berman writes and performs original songs rooted in the folk and California folk rock traditions. His newest album, In the Woods, will be released in October 2026. It features ten songs that reflect love, loss, longing, and our connection with the natural world.  The first single, Hold Back the Sea, was released in August. 

Mike performs across Southern California, and up the West Coast as far as British Columbia, as well as in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. He has appeared at legendary venues McCabe’s Guitar Shop in Los Angeles, the Towne Crier in New York, and Club Passim in Boston, and the Tucson Folk Festival, Cape May Songwriter Festival, and the Glendale AZ Folk Festival.

Mike's 2025 album Ghosts contains eight original tracks addressing themes such as growing up amidst gun violence, lost relationships, the dangers of looking back, and the redemption and mercy that love and music can bring to your soul. The album was listed on the folk charts top-30 in March 2025 and continues to be featured on radio and online programs across the US and abroad. Critic Sue Barrett listed Ghosts as one of her top-ten albums of 2025 in Rhythms Magazines. Mike's 2025 single La Ciudad del Sol received extensive airplay and was named a finalist in the IAMA (International Acoustic Music Awards).
